U.S. crude oil inventories increased by +2620k bbl in the week ended August 14, while Cushing stocks rose by +326k bbl. Distillate inventories grew by +594k bbl and gasoline inventories decreased by -2708k bbl. We also remind our clients that in-depth analysis of DOE weekly petroleum statistical releases can be conducted using the “Commodities Analytical Toolkit” in the Data Portal section of our website ( www.lcmc-research.com ). Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended August 11. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline, natural gas and gasoil , but decreased in Brent, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas rose by +5.8k to +33.3k in futures and grew by +2.6k to +.....

Baker Hughes shows 883 active rigs as of August 14, 2015, unchanged from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +2 to 672 (ht: +6; vt-dir: -4) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -2 to 213 (ht: -2; vt-dir: unch). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +7 in Permian (TX) and by +4 in Eagle Ford (TX), while declining by -3 in Bakken (ND) and Permian (NM). Vertical/Directional oil rigs declined by -6 in Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs declined by -3 in Eagle Ford (TX).

Oil rigs increased by +6 to 670 (ht: +6; vt-dir: +0) while gas-directed rigs increased by +4 to 213 (ht: +2; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +4 in Permian (TX) and by +2 in Anadarko (OK). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +4 in Marcellus (WV) and decreased by -2 in Marcellus ( SWPA ).
