Please find attached data and charts detailing U. S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended July 28, 2016. Total net imports for the reference week averaged 2.34 bcf/d, higher by +0.26 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged 2.27 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 39.3 bcf/d, higher by +3.6 bcf/d week-over-week. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas and heating oil , but decreased in Brent, gasoline, gasoil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas increased by +8.8k to +154.5k in futures and grew by +6.1k .....

Baker Hughes shows 460 active rigs as of July 29, 2016, higher by +1 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +3 to 374 (ht: -2; vt-dir: +5), while gas-directed rigs decreased by -2 to 86 (ht: -1; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -2 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by -2 in Other. Horizontal gas rigs decreased by -2 in Haynesville (TX), by -1 in Eagle Ford (TX), by -1 in Marcellus ( SWPA ) and by -1 in Marcellus (WV), while increasing by +2 in Marcellus ( NEPA ) and by +1 in Eagle Ford (.....

The EIA reported a +17 bcf injection for the week ending July 21, coming in below our own number of +25 bcf and the Bloomberg median at +26 bcf. At a regional level, South Central represented the largest miss. Today’s inventory build in the teens made us look back a decade – the last time natural gas markets recorded a July injection in the teens was the week ending July 28, 2006 (+19 bcf). Baker Hughes shows 459 active rigs as of July 22, 2016, higher by +13 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +14 to 371 (ht: +13; vt-dir: +1), while gas-directed rigs decreased by -1 to 88 (ht: unch; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +7 in Permian (TX), by +4 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by +2 in Permian (NM), while gas-directed horizontal rigs were relatively unchanged.

The EIA reported a +34 bcf injection for the week ending July 14, coming in below our own number and the Bloomberg median at +39 bcf. At a regional level, our biggest miss was in the Midwest. With the two largest fields in the state of California not allowed to inject, a small draw in the Pacific was to be expected. Aliso Canyon is now partially allowed to withdraw – but not inject – gas to meet peak summer day demand, while McDonald Island remains offline. Operated by PG&E, McDonald Island st.....
