Baker Hughes shows 767 active rigs as of November 13, 2015, lower by -4 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +2 to 574 (ht: +4; vt-dir: -2) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -6 to 193 (ht: -2; vt-dir: -4). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Monterey (CA), while declining by -2 in Eagle Ford (TX). Gas-directed rigs did not change in any of the established regions that we track and all the changes occurred in other areas not associated with any major play.

EIA reported a +49 bcf injection for the week ending November 5 (Bloomberg median +49 bcf, Bloomberg whisper: +47 bcf). The 21 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +41 bcf to +78 bcf with a standard deviation of 9 bcf. Our model showed +48 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted heating degree days reported by NOAA increased by +1 HDD to 68 HDDs, while electricity-weighted cooling degree days decreased by -1 CDD to 10 CDDs. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended November 03. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline, natural gas, gasoil, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas increased by +6.3k to -107.9k in futures and grew by +2.7k to -138.4k in fut.....

Oil rigs decreased by -6 to 572 (ht: +9; vt-dir: -15) while gas-directed rigs increased by +2 to 199 (ht: -1; vt-dir: +3). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +10 in Permian (TX) and by +3 in Bakken (ND), while declining by -4 in Permian (NM). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 in Woodford (Arkoma), while declining by -2 in Marcellus (WV).

The 21 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +52 bcf to +69 bcf with a standard deviation of 4 bcf. Our model showed +60 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted heating degree days reported by NOAA decreased by -1 HDD to 67 HDDs, while electricity-weighted cooling degree days increased by +1 CDD to 11 CDDs. Our weekly rig report was inadvertently published with the “ EIA NG Storage Report” title. This correction updates the name of the report. No other changes were made. Baker Hughes shows 775 active rigs as of October 30, 2015, lower by -12 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -16 to 578 (ht: -17; vt-dir: +1) while gas-directed rigs increased by +4 to 197 (ht: +3; vt-dir: +1).
