Baker Hughes shows 1,929 active rigs as of October 10, 2014, higher by +8 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +18 to 1,609 (ht: +11; vt-dir: +7) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -10 to 320 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -11). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +4 to 242 in Permian (TX), and gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +4 to 28 in Marcellus (WV).

EIA reported a +105 bcf injection for the week ending October 3 (Bloomberg median +109 bcf, Bloomberg whisper: +108 bcf). The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +101 bcf to +108 bcf with a standard deviation of 3 bcf. Our model showed +110 bcf. Nationwide electricity-weighted cooling degree days reported by NOAA decreased by -3 to 28 CDDs, while natural gas-weighted HDDs decreased by -4 to 17 HDDs. ICE posted its COT report earlier today and this file includes ICE Brent contracts. There are no other changes in charts or data. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended September 30. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Oil rigs decreased by -1 to 1,591 (ht: -7; vt-dir: +6) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -8 to 330 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -9). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -6 to 197 in Eagle Ford (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs increased by +1 to 189 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 to 24 in Marcellus (WV).

Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended September 23. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline , but decreased in natural gas, heating oil, Brent and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas declined by -7.3k to +88.1k in futures and fell by -4.7k to +186.3k in fu.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,930 active rigs as of September 26, 2014, total number of oil & gas rigs remained unchanged from previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -9 to 1,592 (ht: +8; vt-dir: -17) while gas-directed rigs increased by +9 to 338 (ht: -2; vt-dir: +11). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 to 203 in the Eagle Ford (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -7 to 188 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -1 to 27 in Marcellus ( SWPA ).

Nationwide electricity-weighted cooling degree days reported by NOAA decreased by -18 to 38 CDDs, while natural gas-weighted HDDs increased by +26 to 35 HDDs.
