Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended September 17, 2013. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for WTI , Brent, natural gas, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials decreased net length in WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil, and increased in natural gas during the reference week. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas by +13.3 to +243.4k in futures and by +4.9 to +300.8k in futur.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,755 active rigs as of September 20, 2013, lower by -7 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +8 to 1,369 (ht: +23; vt-dir: -15) while gas-directed rigs fell by -15 to 386 (ht: -8; vt-dir: -7). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +10 in the Eagle Ford (TX) to 178 and by +7 in the Permian (TX) to 127, but fell by -3 to 35 in the Anadarko (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -2 to 18 in the Marcellus ( SWPA ) and by -4 to 19 in the Eagle Ford (TX).

EIA reported a +46 bcf injection for the week ending September 13 (Bloomberg median +55 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +52). The 28 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +47 bcf to +75 bcf with a standard deviation of 6 bcf. Our model showed +50 bcf. Nationwide HDDs were up by +1 and reached 2, while nationwide cooling degree days reported by NOAA decreased by -8 to 67 CDDs. Baker Hughes shows 1,762 active rigs as of September 13, 2013, higher by +3 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -4 to 1,361 (ht: -2; vt-dir: -2) while gas-directed rigs increased by +7 to 401 (ht: +3; vt-dir: +4). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +6 in the Eagle Ford (TX) to 168 and by +4 in the Permian (TX) to 120, but fell by -3 to 85 in the Anadarko (OK). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 in the Marcellus ( NEPA ) and the Eagle Ford (TX) to 21 and 23, respectively.

Baker Hughes shows 1,759 active rigs as of September 6, 2013, lower by -9 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -23 to 1,365 (ht: -13; vt-dir: -10) while gas-directed rigs increased by +14 to 394 (ht: +10; vt-dir: +4). Horizontal oil rigs fell by -4 in the Permian (NM) to 50 and by -3 in the Anadarko (TX) to 38. Gas-directed horizontal rigs posted modest increases across numerous basins, with the only decrease in the Marcellus ( SWPA ), where rigs declined by -2 to 19.

Please find attached our expanded weekly Commitments of Traders ( COT ) report, which contains additional trader positions, tables, charts and analysis. We have decided to expand our CFTC report to include the disaggregated data published by the CFTC . The Disaggregated COT report separates the commercial category into Producer/Merchant/Processor/User ( PMPU ) and swap dealers (Figure 1).
