Oil rigs decreased by -10 to 362 (ht: -8; vt-dir: -2) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -4 to 88 (ht: -5; vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 in Eagle Ford (TX), but decreased by -5 in Permian (TX), -2 in Bakken (ND), and -5 in other areas not associated with any major shale play.
