US: Baker Hughes shows 540 active rigs as of March 06, 2026, lower by -1 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +3 to 410 (ht: +5; vt-dir: -2), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -4 to 130 (ht: -3; vt-dir: -1). U.S. crude oil inventories rose by +3475k bbl in the week ended February 27, while Cushing stocks increased by +1564k bbl. Distillate inventories grew by +429k bbl and gasoline inventories declined by -1704k bbl. Major data points: Crude oil inventories: Increased by +3.48m bbl (vs. the API estimate of +5.60m bbl).
