STATS shows 1,672 active rigs as of February 1, 2013, higher by +10 for the week. Oil rigs increased by +3 to 1,295 (ht: +10; vt-dir: -7) and gas rigs increased by +7 to 377 (ht: +3; vt-dir: +4). Horizontal oil rigs in the Anadarko (TX) and Permian (TX) Basins increased by +6 to 23 and 82, respectively, but the Eagle Ford (TX) posted a -7 decline for the week to 184. STATS shows 1,662 active rigs as of January 25, 2013, higher by +16 for the week. Oil rigs increased by +20 to 1,292 (ht: +12; vt-dir: +8) and gas rigs declined by -4 to 370 (ht: +4; vt-dir: -8). Horizontal oil rigs in Bakken (ND) rose by +3 to 186 and by +5 to 106 in the Anadarko (OK).
