Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended June 18, 2013. We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. Baker Hughes shows 1,754 active rigs as of June 21, 2013, lower by -12 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -8 to 1,405 (ht: -8; vt-dir: unchanged) while gas-directed rigs fell by -4 to 349 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -5). Horizontal oil rigs fell by -2 in the Permian (TX) to 108. Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -2 to 19 in the Granite Wash (TX), but increased by +3 to 19 in the Marcellus ( NEPA ).

U.S. crude oil inventories grew by +313k bbl in the week ended June 14, while Cushing stocks decreased by -669k bbl. Distillate inventories declined by -489k bbl and gasoline inventories increased by +183k bbl. Oil rigs increased by +7 to 1,413 (ht: +3; vt-dir: +4) while gas-directed rigs fell by -1 to 353 (ht: -5; vt-dir: +4). Horizontal oil rigs rose by +3 in the Permian (TX) to 110 and by +2 to 162 in the Bakken (ND). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -4 to 19 in the Eagle Ford (TX).
