STATS shows 1,653 active rigs as of February 15, 2013, lower by -14 for the week. Oil rigs decreased by -9 to 1,285 (ht: -26; vt-dir: +17) and gas rigs decreased by -5 to 368 (ht: -5; vt-dir: unchanged). Horizontal oil rigs fell by -5 to 187 in the Eagle Ford (TX) and fell by -7 to 179 in the Bakken (ND). U.S. crude oil inventories increased by +560k bbl in the week ended February 8, while Cushing stocks declined by -1118k bbl. Distillate inventories fell by -3677k bbl and gasoline inventories drew -803k bbl. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended February 5. We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. STATS shows 1,667 active rigs as of February 8, 2013, lower by -5 for the week. Oil rigs decreased by -1 to 1,294 (ht: +5; vt-dir: -6) and gas rigs decreased by -4 to 373 (ht: -8; vt-dir: +4). Horizontal oil rigs jumped by +8 to 192 in the Eagle Ford (TX) but fell by -4 to 102 in the Anadarko (OK). Meanwhile, gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -4 to 30 in the Eagle Ford (TX) and by -3 in both the Fayetteville (AR) and Marcellus ( NEPA ) to 16 and 35, respectively, but increased by +3 to .....

STATS shows 1,672 active rigs as of February 1, 2013, higher by +10 for the week. Oil rigs increased by +3 to 1,295 (ht: +10; vt-dir: -7) and gas rigs increased by +7 to 377 (ht: +3; vt-dir: +4). Horizontal oil rigs in the Anadarko (TX) and Permian (TX) Basins increased by +6 to 23 and 82, respectively, but the Eagle Ford (TX) posted a -7 decline for the week to 184.
