Baker Hughes

Baker Hughes shows 1,982 active rigs as of May 18, 2012, up +12 from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +10 (ht: +2, vt-dir: +8) and total gas rigs went up by +2 (ht: +4, vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +4 in Bakken (ND) and by +2 in Permian (NM), while going down by -3 in Anadarko (OK). Horizontal gas rigs went up by +6 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by +2 in Granite Wash (TX).

Schlumberger (Smith) STATS

STATS shows 1,872 active rigs as of May 18, 2012, up +7 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +14 (ht: -3, vt-dir: +17) and total gas rigs went down by -7 (ht: -8, vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +3 in Permian (TX), while going down by -3 in Monterey (CA) and by -2 in Anadarko (TX) and Eagle Ford (TX). Vertical/Directional oil rigs went up by +5 in Monterey (CA), followed by +3 in Eagle Ford (TX) and +2 in Permian (TX). Horizontal gas rigs went up by +2 in Marcellus ( SWPA ).....

U.S. crude oil inventories increased by +2,128k bbl in the week ended May 11, while Cushing stocks built +1,000k bbl. Distillate inventories drew -969k bbl and gasoline inventories dropped by -2,797k bbl. Please find attached this week’s detailed statistical report. Major data points: Crude oil inventories : Built +2.13m bbl (vs. the API estimate of +6.6m bbl), driven by an increase of +1.05m bbl in PADD III . The price of WTI plunged -9% from May 1 to reach $97.01 on May 8 while WTI non-commercial net length experienced the sharpest drop (since data is available) during the week ende.....

U.S. crude oil inventories increased by +3,652k bbl in the week ended May 4, while Cushing stocks built +1,163k bbl. Distillate inventories drew -3,251k bbl and gasoline inventories dropped by -2,613k bbl. Please find attached this week’s detailed statistical report. Major data points: Crude oil inventories : Built +3.65m bbl (vs. the API estimate of +7.8m bbl), driven by an increase in PADD II of +1.89m bbl that offset a draw of -0.31m bbl in PADD I. Stocks in Cushing rose by +1.16m.....
