Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended April 24. We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. Non-commercial net length in WTI rose for the second consecutive week during the week ended April 24. Non-commercials expanded net length in WTI by 11.9k to 261.9k in futures.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,941 active rigs as of April 27, 2012, down -27 from a week ago. Oil rigs went down by -9 (ht: -7, vt-dir: -2) and total gas rigs went down by -18 (ht: -9, vt-dir: -9). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +3 in Bakken (ND) and by +2 in Eagle Ford (TX), while going down by -7 in Anadarko (TX) and by -2 in Monterey (CA). Vertical/Directional oil rigs went up by +13 in Permian (TX), while going down by -2 in Anadarko (OK), Bakken (ND) and Monterey (CA). Horizontal gas rigs went dow.....

STATS shows 1,899 active rigs as of April 27, 2012, up +2 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +7 (ht: +8, vt-dir: -1) and total gas rigs went down by -5 (ht: -1, vt-dir: -4). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +8 in Eagle Ford (TX), while falling by -2 in Anadarko (TX) and by -2 in Permian (TX). Horizontal gas rigs went up by +5 in Granite Wash (TX), followed by +3 in Marcellus ( SWPA ) and +2 in Marcellus ( NEPA ). Horizontal gas rigs fell by -3 in Woodford (Anadarko) and by -2 in Eagle Fo.....

U.S. crude oil inventories increased by +3,978k bbl in the week ended April 20, while Cushing stocks built +574k bbl. Distillate inventories drew -3,052k bbl and gasoline inventories dropped by -2,235k bbl. Please find attached this week’s detailed statistical report. Major data points: Crude oil inventories : Built +3.98m bbl (vs. the API estimate of -1.0m bbl), driven by an increase in PADD III of +3.08m bbl that offset a draw of -2.17m bbl in PADD V.
