Baker Hughes shows 1,756 active rigs as of December 27, 2013, lower by -11 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -13 to 1,382 (ht: +3; vt-dir: -16) while gas-directed rigs increased by +2 to 374 (ht: +3; vt-dir: -1). Vertical oil rigs decreased by -9 to 208 in the Permian (TX), while horizontal gas-directed rigs increased by +1 to 23 in the Marcellus ( SWPA ).

Propane: US propane inventories fell by -2.5m bbl to 47.4m bbl for the week ended December 20, 2013, which is -11.5m bbl below the five-year average. PADD 3 inventories fell by -4.5% to 25.9m bbl. PADD 2 stocks fell -5.1%, or -801k bbl, to 15.1m bbl, and in PADD 1, stocks declined by -274k bbl to 3.9m bbl. Implied demand decreased -4% to 1.55 mb/d; imports declined by -3% to 117 kb/d and production increased +2% to 1.44 mb/d last week.

U.S. crude oil inventories fell by -4731k bbl in the week ended December 20, while Cushing stocks decreased by -446k bbl. Distillate inventories declined by -1850k bbl and gasoline inventories fell by -614k bbl. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended December 17. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas and WTI , but decreased in Brent, gasoline and heating oil during the reference week. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas by +62.6 to +320.7k in futures and by +79.8 to +458.8k in futures .....

Baker Hughes shows 1,767 active rigs as of December 20, 2013, lower by -13 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -16 to 1,395 (ht: -12; vt-dir: -4) while gas-directed rigs increased by +3 to 372 (ht: +7; vt-dir: -4). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -3 to 153 in the Bakken (ND) and fell by -4 to 177 in the Eagle Ford (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +4 to 27 in the Marcellus (WV).

Propane: US propane inventories fell by -2.7m bbl to 50.0m bbl for the week ended December 13, 2013, which is -10.7m bbl below the five-year average. PADD 3 inventories fell by -4.3% to 27.1m bbl. PADD 2 stocks fell -5.8%, or -988k bbl, to 16.0m bbl, and in PADD 1, stocks declined by -266k bbl to 4.2m bbl. Implied demand increased +4% to 1.62 mb/d; imports declined by -9% to 121 kb/d and production dropped -5% to 1.41 mb/d last week.
