Baker Hughes shows 1,753 active rigs as of July 12, 2013, higher by +3 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -4 to 1,391 (ht: -10; vt-dir: +6) while gas-directed rigs increased by +7 to 362 (ht: unchanged; vt-dir: +7). Horizontal oil rigs fell by -6 to 92 in the Anadarko (OK) and by -3 in both the Eagle Ford (TX) and the Bakken (ND) to 168 and 149, respectively. Gas-directed vertical/directional rigs increased the most in the Marcellus ( NEPA ) and in parts of Louisiana not currently ide.....

U.S. crude oil inventories declined by -9874k bbl in the week ended July 05, while Cushing stocks decreased by -2687k bbl. Distillate inventories grew by +3038k bbl and gasoline inventories decreased by -2634k bbl. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended July 2, 2013. We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in WTI , gasoline and heating oil, but decreased net length in natural gas during the reference week. Non-commercials’ net length in WT.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,750 active rigs as of July 3, 2013, higher by +7 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +5 to 1,395 (ht: -4; vt-dir: +9) while gas-directed rigs increased by +2 to 355 (ht: +5; vt-dir: -3). Horizontal oil rigs fell by -4 to 152, but vertical/directional rigs jumped by +5 to 21, in the Bakken (ND). Similarly in the Eagle Ford, horizontal rigs declined by -3 to 171 while vertical/directional rigs increased by +5 to 37. Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +3 to 19 .....

Oil rigs decreased by -15 to 1,390 (ht: -10; vt-dir: -5) while gas-directed rigs increased by +4 to 353 (ht: -2; vt-dir: +6). Horizontal oil rigs fell by -6 to 156 in the Bakken (ND) but increased by +6 to 27 in areas of Colorado not currently identified with a resource play. Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +3 to 24 in the Marcellus (WV), but fell by -3 to 16 in the Eagle Ford (TX).
