Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended April 16, 2013. We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. STATS shows 1,661 active rigs as of April 19, 2013, lower by -14 for the week. Rigs drilling for oil decreased by -10 to 1,327 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -11) and gas rigs fell by -4 to 334 (ht: -5; vt-dir: +1). STATS showed that horizontal oil rigs jumped by +6 in the Eagle Ford (TX) to 197. Horizontal gas rigs declined by -2 to 34 in the Marcellus ( NEPA ) putting aggregate Marcellus rigs at 80 for the week, STATS shows. U.S. crude oil inventories decreased by -1233k bbl in the week ended April 12, while Cushing stocks rose by +1078k bbl. Distillate inventories grew by +2364k bbl and gasoline inventories decreased by -633k bbl. STATS shows 1,675 active rigs as of April 12, 2013, lower by -24 for the week. Rigs drilling for oil decreased by -2 to 1,337 (ht: -9; vt-dir: +7) and gas rigs fell by -22 to 338 (ht: -16; vt-dir: -8). STATS showed that horizontal oil rigs jumped by +6 and +5 in the Anadarko (OK) and Eagle Ford (TX) to 99 and 191, respectively, but declined by -3 to 188 in the Bakken (ND).
