STATS shows 1,672 active rigs as of December 28, 2012, down -36 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -40 to 1,280 (ht: -22, vt-dir: -18) and total gas rigs increased by +4 to 392 (ht: +3, vt-dir: +1). Twelve oil rigs pulled out of the Oklahoma portion of the Anadarko basin (ht: -9, vt-dir: -3) and horizontal rigs operating in the Eagle Ford fell by -6. Horizontal gas rigs in the Eagle Ford and Marcellus ( NEPA ) increased by +2 and +1, respectively. Baker Hughes shows 1,758 active ri.....

U.S. crude oil inventories declined by -586k bbl in the week ended December 21, while Cushing stocks grew by +2,214k bbl. Distillate inventories added +2,423k bbl and gasoline inventories gained +3,782k bbl. Please find attached this week’s detailed statistical report. STATS shows 1,708 active rigs as of December 21, 2012, up +3 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +3 to 1,320 (ht: +13, vt-dir: -10) and total gas rigs were unchanged, although rig types shifted (ht: +6, vt-dir: -6). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +6 in the Eagle Ford (TX) and by +4 in the Permian (TX). STATS shows +2 horizontal gas rigs were added in the Northeast and +3 rigs in the Southwest portions of the Marcellus (PA). Baker Hughes shows 1,769 active rigs as of December 21,.....

We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. STATS shows 1,705 active rigs as of December 14, 2012, down -26 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs decreased by -24 (ht: -29, vt-dir: +5.) and total gas rigs decreased by -2 (ht: unch, vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -12 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by -7 in Permian (NM). On the gas side, horizontal rigs in Eagle Ford (TX) dropped by -4. Vertical/Directional oil rigs increased by +3 in Bakken (ND) and Permian (TX) while Marcellus ( SWPA ) vertical/directional gas rigs dropped by -3. Bak.....
