Baker Hughes shows 1,946 active rigs as of April 13, 2012, down -30 from a week ago. Oil rigs went down by -7 (ht: -5, vt-dir: -2) and total gas rigs went down by -23 (ht: -15, vt-dir: -8). Horizontal oil rigs went down by -2 in Bakken (ND) and by -2 in Permian (NM), while going up by +2 in Eagle Ford (TX). Vertical/Directional oil rigs went up by +3 in Permian (TX) and +2 in Permian (NM). Horizontal gas rigs went down by -9 in Haynesville (TX), followed by -7 in Haynesville (LA) and -3 in Gr.....

Schlumberger (Smith) STATS

STATS shows 1,892 active rigs as of April 13, 2012, down -1 rig from a week ago. Oil rigs went down by -1 (ht: -4, vt-dir: +3) and total gas rigs were unchanged (ht: +2, vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +8 in Eagle Ford (TX), followed by +2 in Permian (TX), while falling by -4 in Bakken (ND) and -3 in Anadarko (TX). Horizontal gas rigs went up by +5 in Barnett (TX), followed by +3 in Eagle Ford (TX), while falling by -3 in Haynesville (LA) and -3 in Marcellus ( NEPA ).

U.S. crude oil inventories increased by +2,791k bbl in the week ending April 6, while Cushing stocks built +292k bbl. Distillate inventories drew -4,000k bbl and gasoline inventories dropped by -4,277k bbl. Please find attached this week’s detailed statistical report. Major data points: Crude oil inventories : Built +2.79m bbl (vs. the API estimate of +6.6m bbl), driven by an increase in PADD III of +2.14m bbl that offset small draws in PADDs I, II, and IV. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended April 3. We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. Non-commercials cut net length in WTI (at the sharpest pace since August 9, 2011) during the week ended April 3 as the price of WTI fell -3% w-o-w to reach $104.01 on April 3......

STATS shows 1,893 active rigs as of April 6, 2012, down -9 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +18 (ht: +8, vt-dir: +10) and total gas rigs fell by -27 (ht: -20, vt-dir: -7). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +4 in Eagle Ford (TX), followed by +3 in Anadarko (OK) and +3 in Anadarko (TX), while falling by -4 in Bakken (ND) and -2 in Barnett Combo (TX) and -2 in Monterey (CA). Vertical/directional oil rigs went down by -4 in Monterey (CA), and went up by +2 in Eagle Ford (TX) and +2 in Perm.....
