Baker Hughes shows 1,924 active rigs as of September 5, 2014, higher by +11 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +9 to 1,584 (ht: -2; vt-dir: +11) while gas-directed rigs increased by +2 to 340 (ht: +5; vt-dir: -3). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -2 to 231 whereas vertical/directional oil rigs increased by +4 to 205 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 to 30 in Marcellus ( SWPA ).

Propane: US propane inventories increased by +1.4m bbl to 76.1m bbl for the week ended August 29, 2014. PADD 3 inventories increased +1%, or +583k bbl, to 41.6m bbl. PADD 2 stocks increased +2% or by +464k bbl to 25.6m bbl. In PADD 1, stocks increased +3% or +189k bbl to 5.9m bbl. Implied demand increased +3% to 1,017 kb/d; imports decreased -18% to 54 kb/d and production fell -1% to 1.54 mb/d last week. U.S. crude oil inventories fell by -905k bbl in the week ended August 29, while Cushing stocks decreased by -385k bbl. Distillate inventories rose by +605k bbl and gasoline inventories fell by -2322k bbl. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended August 26. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas and Brent , but decreased in heating oil, gasoline and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas rose by +13.0k to +149.4k in futures and grew by +5.9k to +246.6k in futu.....

Oil rigs increased by +11 to 1,575 (ht: +3; vt-dir: +8) while gas-directed rigs increased by +8 to 338 (ht: +6; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 to 70 in the Permian (NM) and vertical/directional oil rigs increased by +5 to 201 in the Permian (TX). Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas and heating oil , but decreased in Brent, gasoline and WTI during the reference week.
