Baker Hughes shows 1,266 active rigs as of February 27, 2015, lower by -42 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -33 to 986 (ht: -29; vt-dir: -4) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -9 to 280 (ht: -4; vt-dir: -5). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -6 to 125 in the Eagle Ford (TX) whereas vertical/directional oil rigs increased by +3 to 82 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -1 to 27 in Marcellus ( SWPA ).

U.S. crude oil inventories increased by +8427k bbl in the week ended February 20, while Cushing stocks grew by +2419k bbl. Distillate inventories declined by -2711k bbl and gasoline inventories fell by -3118k bbl. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended February 17. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas, heating oil and Brent , but decreased in gasoline and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas increased by +7.6k to -35.2k in futures and grew by +9.8k to +22.4k in .....

Oil rigs decreased by -37 to 1,019 (ht: -32; vt-dir: -5) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -11 to 289 (ht: -14; vt-dir: +3). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -7 to 131 in the Eagle Ford (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -11 to 79 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -2 to 18 in the Eagle Ford (TX).
