Commitments of Traders Report – July 31, 2015

Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended July 28. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas, heating oil and WTI , but decreased in gasoline , and unchanged in Brent and Brent during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas rose by +22.5k to +20.7k in futures and in.....

Baker Hughes shows 873 active rigs as of July 31, 2015, lower by -2 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +5 to 664 (ht: +4; vt-dir: +1) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -7 to 209 (ht: -2; vt-dir: -5). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Permian (NM) and by +1 in Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -2 in Marcellus ( SWPA ) and Eagle Ford (TX).

U.S. crude oil inventories decreased by -4203k bbl in the week ended July 24, while Cushing stocks fell by -212k bbl. Distillate inventories rose by +2588k bbl and gasoline inventories decreased by -363k bbl. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline, natural gas and heating oil , but decreased in Brent, gasoil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas increased by +14.5k to -1.9k in futures and rose by +25.0k .....

Oil rigs increased by +21 to 659 (ht: +10; vt-dir: +11) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -2 to 216 (ht: +4; vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by +2 in Anadarko (OK), Anadarko (TX) and Permian (NM). Vertical/Directional oil rigs increased by +5 in areas of LA not associated with any specific play and by +5 in TX. Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 to 14.....
