STATS shows 1,838 active rigs as of June 1, 2012, down -23 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs went down by -6 (ht: +4, vt-dir: -10) and total gas rigs went down by -17 (ht: -11, vt-dir: -6). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +3 in Bakken (MT), while going down by -3 in Bakken (ND) and -2 in Anadarko (OK). Vertical/Directional oil rigs went up by +4 in Bakken (ND), while going down by -18 in Permian (TX). Horizontal gas rigs went down by -3 in Marcellus ( NEPA ) and by -2 in Granite Wash (TX) and Ha.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,961 active rigs as of May 4, 2012, up +20 from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +27 (ht: +21, vt-dir: +6) and total gas rigs went down by -7 (ht: -2, vt-dir: -5). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +7 in Anadarko (TX) and by +2 in Bakken (ND) and Permian (NM), while vertical/directional oil rigs went up by +3 in Permian (TX) and by +3 in Permian (NM).
