Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended October 02. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline, natural gas and heating oil , but decreased in Brent, gasoil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas increased by +13.3k to +234.3k in futures and grew by +1.....

US: Baker Hughes shows 1050 active rigs as of October 05, 2018, lower by -2 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -2 to 861 (ht: -4; vt-dir: +2), and gas-directed rigs were unchanged at 189 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Permian (NM) and by +1 in Anadarko (TX), while declining by -3 in Eagle Ford (TX), by -2 in Permian (TX), by -1 in Bakken (ND) and by -1 in Other areas not associated with a specific play. EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | October 04, 2018

The EIA reported a +98 bcf net build in inventory this week. The injection was +10 bcf higher than our estimate and +11 bcf higher than the Bloomberg median. The majority of our error this week was again in the South Central, the +22 bcf injection was +8 bcf more than our models expected, while last week our models showed a -7 bcf underestimate in draws. The 33 bcf swing week over week and large forecast error in this region suggests we may need to take a more detailed look at our South Centra.....

Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended September 27, 2018. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -2.75 bcf/d, up +0.15 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -1.20 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 31.9 bcf/d, down by -6.0 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 47 population weighted CDDs, down by -28 week over week.

Oil rigs decreased by -3 to 863 (ht: +2; vt-dir: -5), and gas-directed rigs increased by +3 to 189 (ht: +1; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +7 in Anadarko (OK), while declining by -3 in Anadarko (TX), by -1 in Permian (NM) and by -1 in Permian (TX). Horizontal gas rigs increased by +2 in Haynesville (LA), while declining by -1 in Granite Wash (OK). Canada: Baker Hughes shows 178 .....

The EIA reported a +46 bcf net build in inventory this week. The injection was -8 bcf lower than our estimate and -15 bcf lower than the Bloomberg median. The majority of our error is attributable to the -11 bcf draw from salt cavern storage this week, which was 6 bcf more than our model expected. Our preliminary estimate for next week’s number is an injection is in the mid-80 bcf range.
