Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended September 6, 2018. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -2.87 bcf/d, down -0.30 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged +0.20 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 35.6 bcf/d, down by -0.9 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 87 population weighted CDDs, up by +2 week over week.

We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoil, heating oil and WTI , but decreased in gasoline and natural gas during the reference week. US: Baker Hughes shows 1046 active rigs as of September 07, 2018, unchanged from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -2 to 860 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -3), and gas-directed rigs increased by +2 to 186 (ht: unch; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +1 in Bakken (ND), by +1 in Permian (TX) and by +4 in Other areas not associated with a specific play, while declining by -2 in Anadarko (OK), by -1 in Anadarko (KS), by -1 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by -1 in Permian (NM). EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | September 06, 2018

The EIA reported a +63 bcf net build in inventory this week. The injection was -3 bcf lower than our estimate and +2 bcf higher than the Bloomberg median. Almost the entirety of the error in our estimate was in the East, which injected 3 bcf less than our estimate, suggesting our models underestimated the full impact of the late season heat on power burns during the reference week. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -2.57 bcf/d, up +0.32 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -0.86 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 36.5 bcf/d, up by +0.8 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 85 population weighted CDDs, up by +6 week over week.
