Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended August 16, 2018. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -2.94 bcf/d, down -0.44 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -1.13 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 37.9 bcf/d, down by -2.1 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 88 population weighted CDDs, down by -13 week over week.

Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended August 14. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas , but decreased in Brent, gasoline, gasoil, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas increased by +58.6k to +254.7k in futures and grew by +55.1k.....

US: Baker Hughes shows 1055 active rigs as of August 17, 2018, unchanged from the previous week. Oil rigs were unchanged at 869 (ht: -2; vt-dir: +2), and gas-directed rigs were unchanged at 186 (ht: unch; vt-dir: unch). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Anadarko (TX) and by +1 in Permian (TX), while declining by -2 in Anadarko (OK), by -1 in Eagle Ford (TX), by -1 in Permian (NM) and by -1 in Other areas not associated with a specific play. Horizontal gas rigs increased by +2 in Marcellus .....
EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | August 16, 2018

The EIA reported a +33 bcf net build in inventory this week. The injection was +1 bcf higher than our estimate and +4 bcf higher than the Bloomberg median. Most of our miss this week was in our regional breakdown where we overestimated East injections are underestimated Midwest injections. Our preliminary estimate for next week’s number is an injection in the low 50 bcf range. This week again posted a strong summer draw on South Central storage, in part these draws are due to demand within.....

Total net imports for the reference week averaged -2.50 bcf/d, up +0.27 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -0.93 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 39.9 bcf/d, up by +2.9 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 102 population weighted CDDs, up by +19 week over week.
