A one standard deviation colder than the 30-yr normal February – similar to the one in 2015 – could potentially draw salt domes to an all-time low of 31 bcf by March 8, compared to the minima of 54 bcf observed on March 7, 2014. Such an extreme level can be diverted via the supply side by a rapid fill of new pipeline capacity (namely Rover and Leach Xpress) with new production, or by incremental imports from Canada. If the supply side fails to balance the market, prices have to increase further .....

We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline, gasoil, heating oil and WTI , but decreased in natural gas during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas rose by +7.8k to +98.6k in futures and fell by -2.6k to +1.....

Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended December 28, 2017. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -1.82 bcf/d, down by -0.01 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -0.32 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 27.3 bcf/d, up by +1.1 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 167 electric weighted HDDs, up by 49 week over week.

The EIA reported a -112 bcf withdrawal for the week ending December 21st, the reported volume was just 1 bcf lighter than our estimate and the Bloomberg median. While our headline estimate was close to the reported -113 bcf, the regional breakdown did not perform as expected, with the biggest misses in the Midwest and South Central canceling each other.
