Baker Hughes shows 1,894 active rigs as of August 24, 2012, down -15 from a week ago. Oil rigs went down by -17 (ht: +1, vt-dir: -18) and total gas rigs went up by +2 (ht: +5, vt-dir: -3). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +4 in Permian (NM) and +3 in Anadarko (OK), while going down by -3 in Permian (TX). Horizontal gas rigs went down by -3 in Marcellus ( NEPA ), while going up by +5 in Colorado.

STATS shows 1,844 active rigs as of August 24, 2012, up +2 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs were up by +7 (ht: +2, vt-dir: +5) and total gas rigs decreased by -5 (ht: -6, vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +4 in Anadarko (KS) and by +2 in Monterey (CA) and Permian (TX), while going down by -3 in Anadarko (TX) and by -2 in Anadarko (OK) and Permian (NM). Vertical/Directional oil rigs went up by +3 in Eagle Ford (TX), while going down by -3 in Monterey (CA). Horizontal gas rigs went dow.....

EIA reported a +47 bcf injection for the week ended August 17 (Bloomberg median +40 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +39 bcf). The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +34 bcf to +53 bcf with a standard deviation of 4 bcf. Our model showed +42 bcf. Nationwide cooling degree days reported by NOAA decreased to 74 CDDs from 92 CDDs the prior week. Total US: +47 bcf ( LCMC +42 bcf; Bloomberg median +40 bcf) East: +48 bcf West: -5 bcf Producing: +4 bcf Today’s +47 bcf compares to a +66 .....
