EIA reported a -82 bcf withdrawal for the week ended February 24 (Bloomberg median -90 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper -89 bcf). The 27 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -74 bcf to -104 bcf with a standard deviation of 5 bcf. Our pipeline scrape model showed -91 bcf. Weather was warmer both week on week (159 HDDs vs. 203 HDDs) and year on year (159 HDDs vs. 178 HDDs). STATS shows 1,856 active rigs as of February 24, 2012, up +7 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +11 (ht: +10, vt-dir: +1) and total gas rigs fell by -4 (ht: +1, vt-dir: -5). Eagle Ford (TX) gained 11 horizontal oil rigs and Anadarko (OK) gained another 3 horizontal oil rigs. Marcellus (WV) regained 5 horizontal gas rigs and Haynesville lost another 5 horizontal gas rigs.

The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -125 bcf to -185 bcf with a standard deviation of 15 bcf. Our pipeline scrape model showed -167 bcf. Schlumberger (Smith) Rigs
STATS shows 1,849 active rigs as of February 17, 2012, up +6 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +45 (ht: +25, vt-dir: +20) and total gas rigs fell by -39 (ht: -25, vt-dir: -14). Anadarko (OK) and Permian (TX) each gained 5 horizontal oil rigs and Monterey (CA) gained 7 vertical/directional oil rigs. Marcellus (WV) lost 7 horizontal gas rigs and Haynesville (LA) lost another 4 horizontal gas rigs. Marcellus ( SWPA ) also lost 4 vertical/directional gas rigs.
