We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. Non-commercial net length rose across the petroleum complex again this week, with sharp increases in WTI and heating oil. Non-commercial net length climbed to reach a record.....

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -89 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending December 3, a slightly larger withdrawal than the Bloomberg median expectation of a -85 bcf build. This storage withdrawal was larger than both the five-year average of -74 bcf and the year-ago -64 bcf net injection (for the calendar week). While our weather model indicated a withdrawal in line with -89 bcf, the holiday effect during the previous week would have implied a slightly higher withdrawal. .....

The EIA reported a -23 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending November 26, a slightly smaller withdrawal than the Bloomberg median expectation of a -29 bcf build. The storage withdrawal was lower than the five-year average of -36 bcf, while the same week last year managed a small +2 bcf net injection during the holiday week. Though the reported withdrawal was below consensus expectations, it implies that weather-adjusted balances have continued to tighten sequentially as the heating seas.....

Non-commercial net length in WTI and heating oil declined sharply this week while it was almost unchanged in gasoline. In WTI , net longs fell by 31.1k to 175.2k in future.....

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -6 bcf withdrawal for the week ending November 19. This is a larger draw on storage than the Bloomberg median expectation of a -1 bcf withdrawal. The same calendar week last year saw a +5 bcf injection, but the 5-year average is for a -13 bcf withdrawal. EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a +3 bcf storage injection for the week ending November 12, lower than the Bloomberg median expectation of a +8 bcf build. The build was lower than last year’s +18 bcf injection and the +21 bcf 5-year average. For the past three weeks, net injections have aligned quite well with pipeline scrapes while consistently suggesting tighter balances than our weather models would suggest. EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a +19 bcf storage injection for the week ending November 5, lower than the Bloomberg median expectation of a +23 bcf build. The build was lower than last year’s +25 bcf injection and the +30 bcf 5-year average. The build was in line with our pipeline scrape models, but well below our weather models, which suggested a build in the low- to mid-30s.
