Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended December 01. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline, natural gas and heating oil , but decreased in Brent, gasoil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas rose by +12.9k to -99.2k in futures and increased by +9.....

Baker Hughes shows 737 active rigs as of December 4, 2015, lower by -7 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -10 to 545 (ht: -3; vt-dir: -7) while gas-directed rigs increased by +3 to 192 (ht: +3; vt-dir: unch). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -4 in Permian (TX) and by -3 in Bakken (ND), while increasing by +2 in Anadarko (OK). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 in areas of Texas not associated with any established plays.

Today the EIA reported the first withdrawal of the season at -53 bcf, coming in line with our own number at -52 bcf, but stronger than the Bloomberg median at -47 bcf. Regionally the Midwest surprised with a stronger than expected withdrawal, while the South Central reported a smaller than expected withdrawal. That would imply that the South Central is relying less on exports and more on storage to balance supply and demand as injections come to an end. The withdrawal for the week ending N.....

Oil rigs decreased by -9 to 555 (ht: -7; vt-dir: -2) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -4 to 189 (ht: -5; vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -9 in Permian (NM), while increasing by +2 in Anadarko (OK). Gas-directed rigs decreased by -1 in Eagle Ford (TX), Granite Wash (TX), Marcellus ( NEPA ) and Woodford (Arkoma).

Please note that the Canadian inventory overview is excluded from this week’s report as the data will be released tomorrow. Today the EIA reported a +9 bcf injection for the reference week ending November 19 coming in below our own number at +12 bcf, but above the Bloomberg median at +7 bcf. After accounting for the regional rounding errors, the surprise was concentrated in the Midwest and salt-domes. It would appear that intrastate facilities that we cannot track are already withdrawing, e.....
