US: Baker Hughes shows 242 active rigs as of August 14, 2020, lower by -3 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -4 to 172 (ht: -5; vt-dir: +1), and gas-directed rigs increased by +1 to 70 (ht: +1; vt-dir: unch). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -4 in Permian (TX) and by -1 in Permian (NM). Horizontal gas rigs increased by +1.....

Dear , The EIA reported a +58 bcf build for the reference week, 4 bcf higher than our call of +54 bcf and 2 bcf higher than the Bloomberg median of +56 bcf. The high inventories in the Midwest and South Central entering the shoulder months may set up for injectability issues later on in the season. Factors that can offer outlets for these regions, particularly in South Central, are lower associated gas production, returning industrial demand, and returning LNG exports... We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI, Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas, WTI, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil , but decreased in Brent during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas increased by +24.5k to +242.1k in futures and grew by +25.8k t.....

Oil rigs decreased by -4 to 176 (ht: -6; vt-dir: +2), and gas-directed rigs were unchanged at 69 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +1 in Permian (TX), while declining by -4 in Permian (NM), by -1 in Eagle Ford (TX) .....

Dear , The EIA reported a +33 bcf build for the reference week, 5 bcf higher than our call of +28 bcf and 3 bcf higher than the Bloomberg median of +30 bcf. Looking at this week’s price action, we initially asked ourselves what we now perceive as a poorly-worded question... Given the sudden and extended move, we now believe a better question would have been: “was the $1.799/mmbtu price level for the September contract justified?” Our models are currently showing injections of: +53, +34, +30, +55.....
