Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended September 03. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas and gasoil , but decreased in Brent, gasoline, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas grew by +11.0k to -132.4k in futures and rose by +3.4k.....

US: Baker Hughes shows 898 active rigs as of September 06, 2019, lower by -6 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -4 to 738 (ht: unch; vt-dir: -4), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -2 to 160 (ht: -1; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 in Bakken (ND), by +1 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by +1 in Other areas not associated with a specific play, while declining by -4 in Anadarko (OK) and by -1 in Permian (TX). The EIA reported a +84 bcf increase in inventories this week. The build was +7 bcf higher than both our forecast and the Bloomberg median. Our largest misses this week were in the Midwest and South Central, though the magnitude of the error in the South Central is unclear due to differences between the total reported South Central number and the salt/non-salt split. For the week ending August 29, 2019, We are anticipating a +77 bcf injection for Thursday’s natural gas storage report as indicated by our models. E: +31; MW: +34; MTN : +4; PAC : -1; SC: +9 (S: 0, NS: +9). There are currently 6 analysts reporting on Bloomberg with an average of +78 bcf. Over the next four weeks (incl. this week) we are anticipating +77, +78, +82, +85, for a total of +322 bcf, compared to last year’s +267 bcf and 5-yr average of +296 bcf. Total net exports averaged 7.97 .....

Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 in Bakken (ND), while declining by -4 in Permian (TX), by -1 in Anadarko (OK), by -1 in Permian (NM) and by -8 in Other areas not associated with a specific play. The EIA reported a +60 bcf increase in inventories this week. The build was +2 bcf higher than our forecast and +3 bcf higher than the Bloomberg median. The only miss in our regional breakdown this week was in the Midwest where we underestimated injections. Our early forecast for next week’s number is an injection in the high 70 bcf range. Growing Northeast production and fluctuating regional power burns have not only led to swingy intraregional injections but have also resulted in volatil.....
