Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended July 30. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline, gasoil and heating oil , but decreased in natural gas and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas declined by -47.1k to -181.6k in futures and fell by -45.4k.....

US: Baker Hughes shows 941 active rigs as of August 02, 2019, lower by -4 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -6 to 770 (ht: -4; vt-dir: -2), and gas-directed rigs increased by +2 to 171 (ht: unch; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by +1 in Anadarko (TX), while declining by -5 in Anadarko (OK), by -1 in Permian (NM) and by -1 in Permian (TX). The EIA reported a +65 bcf increase in inventories this week. The build was +10 bcf higher than our estimate and +8 bcf higher than the Bloomberg median. Our large miss this week was almost entirely in the South Central region with salts drawing 6 bcf less than we expected and non-salts injecting 3 bcf more than we expected. Our early estimate for next week’s number is an injection around the mid-60 bcf mark. After a two week reprieve, non-salts returned to builds in excess of 5-year highs.....

For the week ending July 25, 2019, We are anticipating a +55 bcf injection for Thursday’s natural gas storage report as indicated by our models. E: +20; MW: +28; MTN : +4; PAC : -1; SC: +4 (S:-9, NS: +13). There are currently 5 analysts reporting on Bloomberg with an average of +58 bcf. Over the next four weeks (incl. this week) we are anticipating +55, +52, +50, +53, for a total of +210 bcf, compared to last year’s +159 bcf and 5-yr average of +180 bcf. The EIA reported a +36 bcf increase in inventories this week. The build was in line with both our estimate and the Bloomberg median. Regionally, our largest misses were in the South Central and Midwest again. Overestimates of net South Central draws fortunately offset overestimates for Midwest builds. Our early estimate for next week’s number is an injection close to the 50 bcf mark. At the start of the summer, low inventories in California storage pools and ongoing constraints at the Topo.....
