US: Baker Hughes shows 975 active rigs as of June 07, 2019, lower by -9 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -11 to 789 (ht: -9; vt-dir: -2), and gas-directed rigs increased by +2 to 186 (ht: +2; vt-dir: unch). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +1 in Anadarko (TX) and by +1 in Permian (NM), while declining by -3 in Anadarko (OK), by -3 in Eagle Ford (TX), by -2 in Permian (TX), by -1 in Bakken (ND) and by -2 in Other areas not associated with a specific play. Since the NG market monitor will not be published during the month of June, the updated monthly balances have been included in this report. The EIA reported a +119 bcf increase in inventories this week. The build was +8 bcf higher than our estimate and +10 bcf above the Bloomberg median. While the Mountain and Pacific regions saw stronger than expected builds, South Central non-salt injections were again our largest miss. The EIA reported a +114 bcf increase in inventories this week. This week’s build was 12 bcf higher than our estimate and 16 bcf above the Bloomberg median. The vast majority of our miss this week came from the South Central region where we underestimated the build by 8 bcf. Our initial estimate for the week ending May 30th is an injection of 113 bcf. In general, the South Central often surprises due to its lower visibility around nominations, especially in Texas. Thus, there is a limit on .....
