Oil rigs decreased by -9 to 824 (ht: -7; vt-dir: -2), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -1 to 192 (ht: unch; vt-dir: -1). The EIA reported a -47 bcf decrease in inventories this week. This week’s draw was -1 bcf lower than our estimate and -1 bcf below the Bloomberg median. The EIA revised the reported stocks for the week of March 8, 2019 from 1,186 bcf to 1,190 bcf, this caused last week’s reported change in inventory to be revised from a -204 bcf draw to a -200 bcf draw. The EIA reported a -204 bcf decrease in inventories this week (-205 bcf based on the regional aggregation). This week’s draw was -14 bcf lower than our estimate and -6 bcf below the Bloomberg median. Our miss this week was in two regions: the Midwest, where we overestimated draws by 4 bcf and South Central non-salts where we overestimated the draws by a hefty 8 bcf.
