Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended January 08. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline and gasoil , but decreased in natural gas, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas fell by -8.5k to +257.6k in futures and decreased by -9......

US: Baker Hughes shows 1049 active rigs as of February 08, 2019, higher by +4 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +7 to 854 (ht: -1; vt-dir: +8), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -3 to 195 (ht: -1; vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Eagle Ford (TX), by +1 in Monterey (CA) and by +4 in Other areas not associated with a specific play, while declining by -4 in Anadarko (OK), by -3 in Permian (TX) and by -1 in Barnett Combo (TX). Please note our extended U.S. and Canada tables covering the withdrawal season are included in the attachment. The EIA reported a -237 bcf decrease in inventories this week. This week’s draw was -5 bcf lower than our estimate and -10 bcf below the Bloomberg median. Our largest miss was in the South Central where we overestimated withdrawals, a lack of visibility around freeze-offs and absolute daily demand levels in Texas resulted in uncertainty around storage pulls during the cold snap.
