Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended October 25, 2018. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -3.90 bcf/d, down by -0.82 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -1.71 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 26.2 bcf/d, up by +0.2 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 60 electric weighted HDDs, up by +9 week over week.

Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended October 23. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas , but decreased in Brent, gasoline, gasoil, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas decreased by -1.6k to +287.1k in futures and grew by +0.6k .....

US: Baker Hughes shows 1068 active rigs as of October 26, 2018, higher by +1 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +2 to 875 (ht: +1; vt-dir: +1), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -1 to 193 (ht: unch; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Permian (TX) and by +1 in Bakken (ND), while declining by -2 in Other areas not associated with a specific play. Horizontal gas rigs increased by +1 in Haynesville (TX) and by +1 in Marcellus ( SWPA ), while declining by -1 in Barnett (.....


EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | October 25, 2018

The EIA reported a +58 bcf increase in inventory this week. Because of the 5 bcf reclassification in the South Central non-salts, this +58 bcf increase in inventory actually corresponds to a +63 bcf injection. The injection was +8 bcf higher than our estimate and +9 bcf higher than the Bloomberg median. There is one more caveat to the numbers released today: the sum of both regional “net change” and “implied flow” published by the EIA are 2 bcf below the headline total (56 vs 58 bcf and 61.....

Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended October 18, 2018. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -3.08 bcf/d, down by -1.03 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -2.10 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 26.0 bcf/d, down by -6.4 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 51 electric weighted HDDs, up by +35 week over week.

Oil rigs increased by +4 to 873 (ht: unch; vt-dir: +4), and gas-directed rigs increased by +1 to 194 (ht: -1; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Eagle Ford (TX), by +1 in Monterey (CA) and by +1 in Permian (TX), while declining by -3 in Permian (NM) and by -1 in Anadarko (OK). Horizontal gas rigs increased by +1 in Marcellus (WV), while declining by -1 in Marcellus ( NEPA ) and .....

The EIA reported a +81 bcf net build in inventory this week. The injection was -5 bcf lower than our estimate and -4 bcf lower than the Bloomberg median. The majority of our error came from the Mountain region this week, where the number came in at -3 bcf draw compared to our assumption of a +1 bcf build. Interestingly enough our regional balance model predicted a -2 bcf draw, while that number may have been closer, the oddly high variation between our scrape and flow models this week created .....
