Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended October 11, 2018. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -2.05 bcf/d, up +0.21 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -1.55 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 32.4 bcf/d, up by +0.7 bcf/d week-over-week. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended October 09. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas and heating oil , but decreased in Brent, gasoline, gasoil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas rose by +51.0k to +285.3k in futures and grew by +50.7k .....

US: Baker Hughes shows 1062 active rigs as of October 12, 2018, higher by +12 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +8 to 869 (ht: +8; vt-dir: unch), and gas-directed rigs increased by +4 to 193 (ht: +1; vt-dir: +3). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 in Eagle Ford (TX), by +2 in Permian (NM), by +2 in Permian (TX) and by +1 in Anadarko (OK). Horizontal gas rigs increased by +1 in Woodford (Arkoma) and by +1 in Other areas not associated with a specific play, while declining by -1 in E.....

Please note our extended U.S. and Canada tables covering the injection season are included in the attachment. The EIA reported a +90 bcf net build in inventory this week. The injection was -7 bcf lower than our estimate and -2 bcf lower than the Bloomberg median. The majority of our error was from an overestimate for Midwest injections this week, stemming mainly from our regional balance model (our scrape model was closer). Total net imports for the reference week averaged -2.26 bcf/d, up +0.49 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -1.19 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 31.7 bcf/d, down by -0.2 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 45 population weighted CDDs, down by -2 week over week.
