Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended April 12, 2018. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -2.02 bcf/d, down by -0.36 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -0.64 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 24.3 bcf/d, up by +1.4 bcf/d week-over-week. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended April 10. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, heating oil and WTI , but decreased in gasoline, natural gas and gasoil during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas declined by -16.5k to +192.8k in futures and fell by -15.7.....

US: Baker Hughes shows 1007 active rigs as of April 13, 2018, higher by +5 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +7 to 815 (ht: unch; vt-dir: +7), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -2 to 192 (ht: -1; vt-dir: -1). Please note our extended U.S. and Canada tables covering the withdrawal season are included in the attachment. The EIA reported a -19 bcf net change in inventory this week. The draw was higher than both our estimate and the Bloomberg median by 7 bcf. Our current estimate for next week is a draw in the mid-30s. The EIA reported a -29 bcf net change in inventory this week, but implied flow out of storage was only -20 bcf due to a reclassification in non-salt fields in the South Central. The net change was in line with our estimate but implied flow was way off. Bloomberg median was at -26 bcf, with average expectation at -27 bcf.
