EIA reported a +62 bcf injection for the week ended June 1 (Bloomberg median +58 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +56 bcf). The 26 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +45 bcf to +75 bcf with a standard deviation of 6 bcf. Our model showed +53 bcf. Much lower temperatures in the Rockies led to slightly higher heating degree days nationwide (15 HDDs vs. 14 HDDs), however, due to warmer weather in the other regions we saw a significant week on week increase in cooling degree days (55 CDDs vs. 32 CD.....

Baker Hughes

Baker Hughes shows 1,974 active rigs as of June 1, 2012, down -3 from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +3 (ht: -6, vt-dir: +9) and total gas rigs went down by -6 (ht: -2, vt-dir: -4). Horizontal oil rigs went down by -2 in Anadarko (OK) and Anadarko (KS), while going up by +2 in Permian (TX). Vertical/directional oil rigs went up by +3 in Permian (TX) and Permian (NM). Horizontal gas rigs went down by -2 in Woodford (Anadarko) and Woodford (Arkoma).

STATS shows 1,838 active rigs as of June 1, 2012, down -23 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs went down by -6 (ht: +4, vt-dir: -10) and total gas rigs went down by -17 (ht: -11, vt-dir: -6). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +3 in Bakken (MT), while going down by -3 in Bakken (ND) and -2 in Anadarko (OK). Vertical/Directional oil rigs went up by +4 in Bakken (ND), while going down by -18 in Permian (TX). Horizontal gas rigs went down by -3 in Marcellus ( NEPA ) and by -2 in Granite Wash (TX) and Ha.....

EIA reported a +71 bcf injection for the week ended May 25 (Bloomberg median +71 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +70 bcf). The 26 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +59 bcf to +82 bcf with a standard deviation of 5 bcf. Our model showed +70 bcf. Average weather was warmer week on week (14 HDDs vs. 24 HDDs), but this time around we actually managed to increase the total degree days count from the previous week as incremental CDDs made up for the lost HDDs (32 CDDs vs. 19 CDDs). Total US: +71.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,977 active rigs as of May 25, 2012, down -5 from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +1 (ht: +3, vt-dir: -2) and total gas rigs went down by -6 (ht: -5, vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs went down by -5 in Eagle Ford (TX), followed by -3 in Anadarko (OK) and -2 in Barnett Combo (TX), while going up by +2 in Bakken (ND). EIA reported a +77 bcf injection for the week ended May 18 (Bloomberg median +78 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +76 bcf). The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +70 bcf to +90 bcf with a standard deviation of 5 bcf. Our model showed +71 bcf. Average weather was warmer week on week (24 HDDs vs. 31 HDDs), but again a combination of higher temperatures in the north and lower temperatures in the south led to a decrease in cooling demand. (19 CDDs vs. 25 CDDs). Total US: +77 bcf ( LCMC +71 .....
