Baker Hughes shows 1,797 active rigs as of November 2, 2012, down -27 from a week ago. Oil rigs decreased by -35 (ht: -8, vt-dir: -27) and total gas rigs increased by +8 (ht: +8., vt-dir: unch). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -5 in Bakken (ND). Vertical/Directional oil rigs decreased by -6 in Permian (TX), -5 in Texas outside established shale plays and -4 in Permian (NM). STATS shows 1,746 active rigs as of November 2, 2012, down -17 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs decreased by -11 (ht: -8, vt-dir: -3.) and total gas rigs decreased by -6 (ht: +1, vt-dir: -7). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -6 in Eagle Ford (TX), and by -4 in Oklahoma area outside of Anadarko. Horizontal oil rigs increased by +4 to 30 in Anadarko (TX). Vertical/Directional oil rigs decreased by -3 nationwide. Horizontal gas rigs increased by +3 to 51 in Eagle Ford (TX) and +2 to 26 in Marcel.....

In this Special Edition of EIA NG Storage Report, we provide a power outage breakdown by state and by utility. EIA reported a +65 bcf injection for the week ended October 26 (Bloomberg median +68 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +69 bcf). The 23 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +64 bcf to +78 bcf with a standard deviation of 4 bcf. Our model showed +69 bcf. Nationwide cooling degree days reported by NOAA decreased to 12 CDDs from 15 CDDs the prior week. Nationwide HDDs decreased to 56.....

Commitment of Traders Report - October 26
Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended October 23. We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. Non-commercials reduced net length in WTI during the week ended October 23 for a second week in a row. Non-commercials decreased WTI net length by -16.3k to 241.8k in futu.....

Irion County, TX has been moved from “Other – Texas” to “Permian (TX)” within oil rig groupings. Historical values in the attached .xlsx file have been updated to reflect that change. STATS shows 1,763 active rigs as of October 26, 2012, down -21 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs decreased by -36 (ht: -26, vt-dir: -10.) and total gas rigs increased by +15 (ht: +13, vt-dir: +2). EIA reported a +67 bcf injection for the week ended October 19 (Bloomberg median +67 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +66 bcf). The 26 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +55 bcf to +72 bcf with a standard deviation of 4 bcf. Our model showed +65 bcf.
