Schlumberger (Smith) STATS
STATS shows 1,823 active rigs as of September 21, 2012, down -7 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs decreased by -1 (ht: -1, vt-dir: unch.) and total gas rigs decreased by -6 (ht: +1, vt-dir: -7). Eagle Ford (TX) recorded its highest horizontal oil rig count this week, (up +9 to 204). Six horizontal oil rigs moved from Anadarko (OK) to Anadarko (TX) ending the week at 110 and 26, respectively. Horizontal oil rigs went down by -5 in “Other” Texas. Horizontal gas rig counts went down by -3 in Eag.....

EIA reported a +67 bcf injection for the week ended September 14 (Bloomberg median +65 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +65 bcf). The 26 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +60 bcf to +73 bcf with a standard deviation of 3 bcf. Our model showed +62 bcf. Nationwide cooling degree days reported by NOAA decreased to 43 CDDs from 79 CDDs the prior week. Nationwide HDDs increased to 12 from 1 in the prior week. Baker Hughes shows 1,861 active rigs as of September 14, 2012, unchanged from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +4 (ht: -2, vt-dir: +6) and total gas rigs went down by -4 (ht: unch., vt-dir: -4).
