Baker Hughes shows 618 active rigs as of January 29, 2016, lower by -18 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -13 to 497 (ht: -8; vt-dir: -5) while gas-directed rigs dropped by -5 to 122 (ht: -5; vt-dir: unch). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -11 in Permian (TX) and by -4 in Permian (NM), while increasing by +3 in Anadarko (OK). Gas-directed horizontal rigs declined by -1 in Granite Wash (OK), Marcellus ( NEPA ) and Woodford (Arkoma).

Distillate inventories decreased by -4057k bbl and gasoline inventories grew by +3464k bbl. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended January 19. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline, gasoil and WTI , but decreased in natural gas and heating oil during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas fell by -6.2k to +13.4k in futures and declined by -0.3k.....

Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Anadarko (OK) and +1 in Permian (TX), but dropped by -2 in Bakken (ND) and in areas not associated with a specific play. Gas-directed horizontal rigs declined by -3 in Eagle Ford (TX) and -4 in Haynesville (TX).
