STATS shows 1,847 active rigs as of June 8, 2012, up +9 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +15 (ht: +12, vt-dir: +3) and total gas rigs went down by -6 (ht: -5, vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +5 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by +3 in Bakken (ND), while going down by -2 in Monterey (CA). U.S. crude oil inventories decreased by -111k bbl in the week ended June 1, while Cushing stocks built +926k bbl. Distillate inventories increased by +2,253k bbl and gasoline inventories grew by +3,346k bbl. Please find attached this week’s detailed statistical report. Major data points: Crude oil inventories : Drew -0.11m bbl (vs. the API estimate of -1.8m bbl), driven by a decrease of -3.89m bbl in PADD V that offset a build of +2.77m bbl in PADD II. Baker Hughes shows 1,974 active rigs as of June 1, 2012, down -3 from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +3 (ht: -6, vt-dir: +9) and total gas rigs went down by -6 (ht: -2, vt-dir: -4). Horizontal oil rigs went down by -2 in Anadarko (OK) and Anadarko (KS), while going up by +2 in Permian (TX). Vertical/directional oil rigs went up by +3 in Permian (TX) and Permian (NM). Horizontal gas rigs went down by -2 in Woodford (Anadarko) and Woodford (Arkoma).
