Baker Hughes shows 1,851 active rigs as of May 9, 2014, higher by +1 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +1 to 1,528 (ht: -2; vt-dir: +3) while gas-directed rigs stayed the same at 323 (ht: -2; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -4 to 160 in the Bakken (ND) and vertical/directional oil rigs increased by +2 to 3 in Anadarko (KS). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +3 to 14 in Granite Wash (TX).

In Focus: Petrochemical update Some of the key issues on the minds of chemical companies – or at least the analysts that cover them – include ethane and propane exports, construction timelines for new cracking facilities in the U.S. and opportunities for chemical demand growth in international markets, particularly China. Distillate inventories declined by -447k bbl and gasoline inventories grew by +1608k bbl. Commitments of Traders Report – May 05, 2014

Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended April 29. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in heating oil, Brent and gasoline , but decreased in natural gas and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas decreased by -24.7k to +384.7k in futures and fell by -18.2k to +515.6k in.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,850 active rigs as of May 2, 2014, lower by -7 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -7 to 1,527 (ht: +3; vt-dir: -10) while the number of gas-directed rigs stayed the same at 323 (ht: -1; vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -3 to 39 in Anadarko (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -3 to 21 in Marcellus ( NEPA ).

Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas, heating oil, Brent and gasoline, but decreased in WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas grew by +5.0k to +409.4k in futures and increased by +14.3k to +533.8k in futu.....
