Oil rigs increased by +11 to 1,575 (ht: +3; vt-dir: +8) while gas-directed rigs increased by +8 to 338 (ht: +6; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 to 70 in the Permian (NM) and vertical/directional oil rigs increased by +5 to 201 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +3 to 28 in Marcellus ( SWPA ).
