EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | February 10, 2011

-209 bcf

The EIA reported a -209 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending February 4, a larger withdrawal than the Bloomberg median estimate of -197 bcf, the five-year average draw of -159 bcf, and the year-ago draw of -180 bcf. This week’s withdrawal indicates that balances are much tighter on both a year-ago basis and compared to prior weeks during this heating season. This is (at least partly) due to the historically cold weather that struck Texas and the Southwest US last week, leading to well .....

-189 bcf

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -189 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending January 28, a larger withdrawal than the Bloomberg median estimate of -187 bcf, the five-year average draw of -165 bcf, and the year-ago draw of -111 bcf. Looking at weather alone, this draw makes balances look tighter year on year but looser relative to prior weeks during this withdrawal season. Looking forward, current inventories and the pace of this year’s withdrawals are still pointing toward e.....

-174 bcf

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -174 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending January 21, a larger withdrawal than the Bloomberg median estimate of -170 bcf, the five-year average draw of -152 bcf, and the year-ago draw of -109 bcf. Looking at weather, this draw makes balances appear about 4.5 bcf/d tighter than last year; however, last week was a holiday week, making comparisons difficult. The draw does look in line with prior weeks this year. So, given current inventory le.....

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | January 20, 2011

-243 bcf

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -243 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending January 14, a larger withdrawal than the Bloomberg median estimate of -232 bcf and the -133 bcf five-year average, but a smaller withdrawal than the year-ago -248 bcf draw. Looking at weather, this draw appears largely in line with last year’s draw. At the same time, net imports during the calendar week are astoundingly low given the cold weather that hit the US during the reporting week. Even so, .....

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | January 13, 2011

-138 bcf

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -138 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending January 7, below the Bloomberg median estimate of -149 bcf, the -161 bcf 5-year average, and the year-ago -255 bcf draw. While appearing low at first, this is largely in line with last year’s withdrawals, as well as the past two week’s withdrawals, when taking into consideration differences in weather and the holiday effect. At this point, if we continue through the winter withdrawing inventories at.....

-135

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -135 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending December 31, a slightly larger withdrawal than the Bloomberg median estimate of -131 bcf and the -79 bcf five-year average, but a smaller withdrawal than the year-ago -149 bcf draw. Weather last week was similar to weather last year (220 HDD vs. 225 HDD last year). And, while comparisons are difficult to make this week due to the timing of the holidays during the calendar week, the draw looks b.....

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | December 30, 2010

-136 bcf

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -136 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending December 24, a smaller withdrawal than the Bloomberg median estimate of -143 bcf, but a larger withdrawal than the year-ago -130 bcf draw or the -118 bcf five-year average. In a week with 218 HDD , the holiday week’s withdrawal is roughly in line with last year’s holiday week as well as historical norms. Total US: -136 bcf (Bloomberg median -143 bcf) East: -103 bcf West: -12 bcf Producing: -21.....

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | December 23, 2010

-184 bcf

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -184 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending December 17, slightly higher than the Bloomberg median expectation of a -180 bcf withdrawal. This storage withdrawal was larger than the 5-year average of -136 bcf and the -172 bcf withdrawal last year. This week’s storage report implies slightly tighter balances on a week-ago and year-ago basis. In addition, a revision was issued that caused stocks to change from 3,561 to 3,552 bcf for the week en.....

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | December 16, 2010

-164

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -164 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending December 10, in line with the Bloomberg median expectation of a -165 bcf withdrawal. This storage withdrawal was larger than the five-year average of -153 bcf but lower than the -207 bcf withdrawal for the same calendar week last year. The story line has not changed much since last week. Year-ago comparisons make this week’s storage report balances appear very loose, but (like last week) this is onl.....

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | December 09, 2010

-89

EIA NG STORAGE REPORT The EIA reported a -89 bcf storage withdrawal for the week ending December 3, a slightly larger withdrawal than the Bloomberg median expectation of a -85 bcf build. This storage withdrawal was larger than both the five-year average of -74 bcf and the year-ago -64 bcf net injection (for the calendar week). While our weather model indicated a withdrawal in line with -89 bcf, the holiday effect during the previous week would have implied a slightly higher withdrawal. .....
