Baker Hughes shows 855 active rigs as of April 21, 2017, higher by +10 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +5 to 688 (ht: +9; vt-dir -4), and gas-directed rigs increased by +5 to 167 (ht: +3; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +1 in Permian (TX), by +2 in the Bakken (ND), by +2 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by +5 in other, while decreasing by -1 in Anadarko (OK). Horizontal gas rigs increased by +1 in the Barnett (TX), by +1 in the Marcellus ( NEPA ) and by +1 in Other.

U.S. crude oil inventories fell by -1034k bbl in the week ended April 14, while Cushing stocks declined by -778k bbl. Distillate inventories decreased by -1955k bbl and gasoline inventories rose by +1542k bbl. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, natural gas, gasoil, heating oil and WTI , but decreased in gasoline during the reference week. Announced OPEC and Non- OPEC production cuts went into effect on January 1, 2017. Production cuts may not immediately result in lower loading volumes, but market participants are closely monitoring 1H 2017 loadings. OPEC and Non- OPEC participants covered in our report are Angola, Iraq, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Equatorial Guinea.
