Baker Hughes shows 1,921 active rigs as of October 3, 2014, lower by -9 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -1 to 1,591 (ht: -7; vt-dir: +6) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -8 to 330 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -9). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -6 to 197 in Eagle Ford (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs increased by +1 to 189 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 to 24 in Marcellus (WV).

Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended September 23. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline , but decreased in natural gas, heating oil, Brent and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas declined by -7.3k to +88.1k in futures and fell by -4.7k to +186.3k in fu.....

Oil rigs decreased by -9 to 1,592 (ht: +8; vt-dir: -17) while gas-directed rigs increased by +9 to 338 (ht: -2; vt-dir: +11). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 to 203 in the Eagle Ford (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -7 to 188 in the Permian (TX). Propane: US propane inventories increased by 1.4m bbl to 77.4m bbl for the week ended September 12, 2014. PADD 3 inventories increased +1%, or 325k bbl, to 41.3m bbl.
