Baker Hughes shows 1,930 active rigs as of September 12, 2014, higher by +6 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +8 to 1,592 (ht: +16; vt-dir: -8) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -2 to 338 (ht: -7; vt-dir: +5). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 to 234 whereas vertical/directional rigs decreased by -4 to 201 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +1 to 20 in Granite Wash (TX).

Propane: US propane inventories decreased by -78k bbl to 76.0m bbl for the week ended September 5, 2014. PADD 3 inventories dropped -1%, or -601k bbl, to 41.0m bbl. PADD 2 stocks increased +2% or by +638k bbl to 26.2m bbl. In PADD 1, stocks fell -3% or -162k bbl to 5.7m bbl.
