Oil rigs decreased by -3 to 1,528 (ht: -8; vt-dir: +5) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -1 to 325 (ht: +3; vt-dir: -4). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -6 to 186 in Eagle Ford (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs increased by +3 to 216 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -2 to 23 in Haynesville (TX).
