STATS shows 1,653 active rigs as of February 15, 2013, lower by -14 for the week. Oil rigs decreased by -9 to 1,285 (ht: -26; vt-dir: +17) and gas rigs decreased by -5 to 368 (ht: -5; vt-dir: unchanged). Horizontal oil rigs fell by -5 to 187 in the Eagle Ford (TX) and fell by -7 to 179 in the Bakken (ND). Horizontal oil rigs jumped by +8 to 192 in the Eagle Ford (TX) but fell by -4 to 102 in the Anadarko (OK).
